Advisory Board
The Shortsea XML project is being led by Norwegian standards organisation NorStella. Based in Oslo, NorStella is a government appointed body established as the national contact point for all international standardization activities in the field of electronic business and trade facilitation.

Project Group

NorStella manages a tight core project group comprising:

Marian Sundvor project leader
Hans Kristian Haram implementation director
Per Bruun-Lie marketing/promotion director
Henk van Maaren technical director

Advisory Board

Maintaining an oversight of the entire project and providing strategic direction is an advisory board [link to board page] comprising leading representatives from the major industry sectors. This board meets regularly and includes:

Simon Spoormaker – SMDG, Chairman
Arild Haraldsen – Norstella
Joyce Bliek – Shortsea Port of Rotterdam
Herbert Frick – Softship
Mark Trundle – Kingfisher

Technical Committee

A technical committee meets quarterly to create and define the technical standards, schemas and associated documentation.

Project participants

Around 30 companies were included in the original Marco Polo application as project participants. This list has grown significantly as the project has evolved. There is ample opportunity for more organisations to become involved in the development and implementation of the standards. Please contact us for more information.
