Simon Spoormaker - SMDG

The world of information technology is home for Simon Spoormaker. Having gained a degree in Information Technology and pursued advanced studies in transportation economics and logistics, Simon has many years of experience as an expert in (computerized) administrative and physical operations-procedures related to container terminals.

He works as a senior consultant on container control procedures (since 1970) and the development of management information systems in a range of countries.

Associated with various international bodies, Simon Spoormaker serves as Chairman of SMDG, official User Group for Shipping Lines and Container Terminals; member and delegation leader for the Netherlands in the European Edifact transport group in Brussels; Chair of the UN/ITIGG International Transport Implementation Guidelines Group and vice chair of the UN/CEFACT Transport-group.


Arild Haraldsen - Norstella

Arild Haraldsen is managing director of NorStella, which is the lead partner in the ShortSeaXML-project. Haraldsen is master in political science from the Univeristy of Oslo.

He has written several textbooks in Strategy and IT, and have lectured in these topics in management schools. Former to being MD of NorStella he was strategic director in Cell Network."

 


Joyce Bliek - Short Sea Port of Rotterdam

Joyce Bliek is business manager shortsea for the Port of Rotterdam, the largest port in Europe. Ms Bliek has a master of science in ecomics &business administration from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

She has been with the Port of Rotterdam for 6 years and previously worked as a port consultant; amongst others on a project resulting in the start of a port community It system for Rotterdam.


Herbert Frick - Softship

Herbert Frick, a 47-year-old educated shipping economist and graduated computer scientist had worked for several shipping companies and software houses in Germany, before he decided to fuse his two professions by founding a company for shipping related software in 1989. Ever since then he has been one of Softship’s managers.

 

 


Mark Trundle - Kingfisher

Mark Trundle has worked in various Retail Supply Chain roles for the last 17 years. The majority of the time has been spent within B&Q, based in the UK.

Currently he manages International Logistics for the Kingfisher Group (which includes B&Q), the 3rd largest DIY retailer in the world. He gained a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and trained as an accountant before moving to a career in Logistics.
